Fall colours in Durham forest where I go mountain biking.

A week in Poland, a week in Canada and now day 3 in Brazil.

After the European Tour event in Brouwersdam, Holland, I flew to Poland to visit family. It was a nice trip and a welcome break from back to back competitions. I got in a good routine there to work out every morning, and also played a couple hours of tennis with my uncle – so in the end I didn’t only sit around and eat my Babcia’s food 😉

From there I took a train to Germany, rented a car, drove to Belgium, picked up my windsurf gear from my friend Steven Van Broeckhoven’s house, left at 2am to drive back to Germany for my flight to Canada. Luckily everything went according to plan. 🙂

At home I had a few great days on my mountain bike in Durham forest, one of my favourite places to ride with a ton of single track trails. I combined the riding with some work outs to make sure I would be fit for Brazil.

I was invited to a recognition night by the City of Markham during my stay at home where I was given an award for my contest results this year by the mayor Frank Scarpitti. It was a cool evening where I learnt about a lot of other successful athletes and teams from Markham. Did you know that 100m sprinter Andre de Grasse is also from Markham?

The day before my departure I even scored a great day of windsurfing at one of my local spots named Sherkston on Lake Erie together with my older brother Kuba. I sailed on my 4.5m Sailworks Revo and Starboard Flare 93, then switched down to the Revo 4.2 with the Ultra Kode 76. I played around a bit with my new GoPro that day, so here’s a short clip:

It was Halloween that weekend, so I windsurfed in a spider web costume mixed with a top hat – I’m not sure if the two fit together well, but a costume’s a costume! 😉 You might have seen the video clip on my Instagram or Facebook.

The day after I packed up my wet gear and flew Toronto –> Miami –> Rio de Janeiro –> Fortaleza then took a pick-up truck transfer for 4 hours to finally arrive in Jeri!

Jericoacoara is paradise. I rigged 4.0, and windsurfed every day fully powered in board shorts. The only tough thing in Jeri is to not windsurf too much! So far I ate Açai every day, delicious massive avocados, local cashew nuts and a ton of fresh delicious fruits. More soon….
